Valeriana wallichii or Tagara is a rhizome herb. The major species of the genus Valeriana, is native to China, Nepal, and India. It is a pretty appropriate herb in the Ayurvedic system of medicine, mainly preferred as an analeptic, antispasmodic, carminative, sedative, stimulant, stomachic, and nervine. It is one of the best herbs for insomnia.
