- High fiber diet
Oatmeal and a high fiber diet are useful for diabetic patients. Fiber slows carb digestion and sugar absorption. Due to this, it promotes a more gradual rise in blood sugar levels.

It helps in regulating the glycemic response, increases insulin sensitivity, improves pancreatic β-cell functions and increases insulin secretions.
